This module describes written communication. Written communication plays a vital role in all types of businesses. In this module, we will go through some grammar fundamentals that can help you in sentence development.

This module has been divided into three lessons - fundamentals for better writing, common writing problems, and creating better documents.

In this module, we will look at the issues that cause problems for many writers. It is important to know that some of the rules of English grammar are firm, while others can be changed. English grammar and style are not similar, but they should work together for a desired effect.

You will also learn about some common grammar, punctuation, and style problems and be presented with sentences, paragraphs, and documents that will help you in improving your writing skills.

By the end of this course the student should:

  • List and properly use the major punctuation marks
  • Define and construct four types of sentences
  • Identify the four "myths about writing"
  • Correct common punctuation errors, particularly those involving commas and apostrophes
