Short Interval Planning (SIP)
Course Description
This module describes Short-Interval Planning (SIP). Short-Interval Planning plays a crucial role in the corporate model that will prepare construction project managers for success in the twenty-first century. This module explains the importance of SIP and its place in the overall construction process. It introduces the student to the forms and calculations necessary to create the short-interval production schedule. It also emphasizes the importance of labor management to the construction process and shows the project manager how SIPS can improve that process.

- State the importance of SIP to the project management planning process
- Describe the primary and secondary benefits of SIPS
- Calculate labor and equipment costs
- State the importance of short-interval production scheduling to the execution of day-to-day tasks
- Calculate an activity budget

- Know how to do a crew cost analysis
- Calculate daily production rate
- Know how to fill out the SIPS form
