Construction Industry Adds 6,000 Jobs in July and 191,000 over 12 Months

August – According to the Association of General Contractors of America, construction employment increased to the highest level in July since October 2008. New handbook helps SMEs best manage water use

August 14 – For those consultants and subject matter experts that work with the environmental issues surround water, including wastewater, ISO released a new handbook. This handbook was created in partnership with ITC to go into ISO 14046 and understand how to maximize the benefits of the standard.

U.S. Department of Labor Awards $80M in Pre-Apprenticeship Grants

August 18 – YouthBuild was just awarded with $80 million in grants by the DOL. This pre-apprenticeship programs is for at-risk individuals ages 16-to-24 and helps at-risk youth complete high school or state equivalency degree programs, earn industry-recognized certifications for in-demand occupations, and undergo training to build housing for low-income or homeless individuals and families in their communities..
