FAQs

Are you an OSHA authorized provider?
Yes, we were among the first to offer online OSHA Outreach courses for both Construction and General Industry.

Is the 10 & 30 hour online course OSHA compliant and accepted by OSHA?
This training program is voluntary. It does not meet training requirements in any OSHA standard. Even though some jurisdictions, employers, and unions require OSHA Outreach training to work on construction sites and to fulfill their safety training goals, OSHA still considers the program voluntary. Workers must receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. See OSHA Publication#2254, Training Requirements in OSHA Standards and Training Guidelines, to review OSHA’s training requirements.

How long do I have to complete the course?
OSHA requires students to complete OSHA 10 and 30-Hour courses within six months from the day the student starts the course.

Once I finish the course and receive my DOL wallet card, does it expire?
There is no expiration date on the DOL Wallet Card. However, due to frequent changes in OSHA regulations we recommend you renewal of your training every 3-4 years. Some states or employers may have additional renewal requirements. Please check with your employer or state for additional requirements.

Nevada workers- Nevada enacted a law to have the DOL card expire five years from the date issued.

NYC- has enacted rules to update OSHA construction outreach training every five years.

What states require OSHA Outreach training?
Seven states in the US (NV, CT, MA, NY, MO, RI, and NH) have mandatory OSHA Outreach construction safety training requirements, which vary from state to state. Please read the state requirements for your state or check with your employer or project manager. We recommend that you check with your employer (or the entity requiring you to have training) if you have any doubt about what is required.

Will I get a printable certificate upon completion?
Yes, you can immediately print a certificate upon completion of the course. Please remember to complete your student survey as required by OSHA to fully complete the course. We then report your name, passing score, completion date, number of final exam attempts, time in course, and survey answers to OSHA. OSHA then issues the student cards to us. We then print your card and mail it to your address. Please ensure we have the correct address to mail your course completion card.

Will I get a DOL card in the mail?
Yes, the DOL wallet card certifying completion of training is received in 6-8 weeks by the student via US Postal Service to the address proved on the leaner profile upon course completion. Please ensure you have given us your correct address.

Who does the DOL card come from and what does it look like? Does it have a photo/ID of any sort?
The DOL card comes from OSHA and is sent to us. We then print it and send it to the student. The card has only a name, no photo. We are not allowed by OSHA to show an image of the student wallet card on our site.

When is online training better than on-site training?
Two words: convenience and self-paced. Many workers are so busy or live in areas where classroom sessions are not practical. Online offers much greater convenience. The self-paced nature of online allows each student to spend more time on the topics.

About the course:

  • How the course works?
You get login credentials. Once you log in, you click on the name of the course to launch. You just click to the next scene whenever you finish the current one.

  • How Many attempts the learners get to take the test?
3 attempts for the quizzes as well as the final exam and must have a minimum score of 70% to pass.

  • Can we complete the OSHA 10/30 course straight without any breaks?
No. OSHA limits students to 7.5 hours a day in the course.

If I lose my DOL card how do I get a replacement?
Replacement cards can only be issued in the original name the card was issued. You are allowed only one replacement card per course completion. After three years of completing the course you can no longer receive a replacement card. To receive a replacement for a lost card, contact Customer Support. There is a $15 replacement fee.

I live outside of the US. Why can’t I take the OSHA Outreach course?
OSHA has restricted the Outreach Training Program classes; OSHA training programs such as the OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center program and the Outreach Training Program are intended for workers covered under the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act of 1970 within OSHA’s geographic jurisdiction.

OSHA Outreach Training Program classes must be limited to training conducted within OSHA’s jurisdiction. Classes delivered outside of OSHA’s jurisdiction will not be recognized as Outreach Training Program classes, and learners will not receive a course completion card.

The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) is a federal agency within the United States. The agency covers workers and employers in the 50 states and certain territories and jurisdictions under federal authority. Jurisdictions include Panama Canal Zone, and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands as defined in the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Wake Island, and Johnston Island.
